Expansion of the trans-European rail network
For the development of the Baltic-Adriatic axis, the Koralmbahn between Graz and Klagenfurt represents a significant section.
The Hengsberg-tunnel and the underpass Weitendorf represent the core piece for the double track expansion in Styria. Thanks to this new high performance railway link new capacities and significantly improved travel times for passenger and freight services shall be created.
For operational safety and measures for self-rescue, especially during exceptional events in railway tunnel systems, specially developed and controlled electronics are necessary. That way illumination of lateral escape routes and rescue sign panels occur through an illuminated LED handrail from din-Sicherheitstechnik. Through the emergency exits that are designed like staircases, railway passengers can exit the tunnel area safely. Illumination is present with LED safety lighting and fully monitored emergency lighting systems until one is safely outside.
Additional to the illumination of railway tunnel and emergency exits, the safety lighting in the technical area, which is necessary to maintain railway system, was completed. The visualization of operating status on the continuously manned control center represents another safety criterion. That way din-Sicherheitstechnik GmbH, as an Austrian producer, was able to contribute to the safety in the railway tunnel and deliver the complete system for emergency lighting equipment.
