One of Austria’s highest construction sites

Naturfreunde Traunsteinhaus, Gmunden

The Traunsteinhaus located at 1580 m was built in 1927 and reopened in 2014 and offers to hikers and mountaineers an ideal possibility for a comfortable rest. During the renovation of the building a couple of additional requirements had to be considered that are concomitant with one of Austria’s highest construction sites.

Since the Naturfreundehaus can be reached only by foot, the experts from din-Sicherheitstechik had to face other challenges… How is material transported to the 1580 m high Naturfreundehaus? What is the best way for the din service technician to maintain and control the emergency lighting?

The way up through the Mair Alm takes about 3-4 hours. To master the ascent sure-footedness and a good condition are a prerequisite. Tools, material and food are brought to the mountain by walking or by helicopter. Of course nothing must be forgotten in this case!

Safety even in small hostels

An elaborate escape route concept is also very important in a small hostel on the mountain, in order that the emergency lighting and escape route signs allow a fast and safe evacuation in case of emergency. The emergency lights of the luminaire range CONCEPT function also as a night light and therefore save precious energy.
